BACKGROUND AND JOB DESCRIPTION

BioInfoRx is seeking a full-time web programmer to assist in the development of novel web-based data management systems. This position is located in Madison, WI, USA. Experienced students in computer sciences or closely related fields are encouraged to apply. Salary or compensation rate will be negotiable.

POTENTIAL KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Enhance the web interfaces of currently available systems.
• Work with other specialists (e.g. biostatisticians) to develop novel web-based systems with PHP, AJAX, and other modern web technologies.
• Design graphic images, flashes, or interactive system tutorials.
• Draft system manuals and other marketing materials.

QUALIFICATIONS

The candidate must have work experience in design database-powered websites with PHP and MySQL. Fluency with Ajax technologies including jQuery will be essential. Some familiarity with Linux, bioinformatics or biostatistics would be a plus. Basic oral and written communication and interpersonal skills are required. All candidates must have demonstrated ability to work independently as well as work with others in a team. To be considered, applicants must have authorization to work in the United States.
